About

The Anime Aficionado

Hey there! I'm Dana, a thirty-something web developer with a deep-rooted passion for anime and manga. My journey into the world of Japanese animation kicked off back in 1999 when I picked up my first manga, One Piece. While that series holds a special place in my heart, it's Naruto that ultimately claimed the throne as my all-time favorite anime. The ninja world of Konoha has been my second home for years!

The Bookworm's Paradise

My love for storytelling extends beyond the animated realm. I'm an insatiable reader, always on the hunt for my next literary adventure. My bookshelves are a eclectic mix of:

  • Young adult fiction (Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling is a personal favorite)
  • Fantasy novels (Sherrilyn Kenyon's works are a must-read)
  • Adventure stories (Owen Colfer's imagination never fails to amaze)
  • Mythology-inspired tales (Rick Riordan's modern takes on ancient myths are brilliant)

But if there's one theme that truly captivates me, it's Greek mythology. The tales of gods, heroes, and monsters have been a constant source of fascination and inspiration.

The Gaming Guru

When I'm not lost in a book or binging anime, you'll likely find me immersed in a video game. I have a particular fondness for RPGs, especially isometric ones that offer deep, engaging storylines. Some of my top picks include:

  • Divinity: Original Sin 2
  • Baldur's Gate series

These games offer the perfect blend of strategy, storytelling, and character development that keeps me coming back for more.

However, my ultimate gaming obsession might surprise you. It's a rhythm game called Osu! Imagine Guitar Hero, but designed for anime enthusiasts and played on a keyboard. It's addictively challenging and endlessly entertaining!

The Self-Taught Techie

My journey into the tech world began in 2010 when I started dabbling in Android app development. What started as a curiosity quickly evolved into a passion, and I found myself creating rudimentary apps just for the fun of it.

 JavaScript | Python | Next.js | React | Redux | Node.js | Express | Flask | Postgres

Now, I love creating web applications that serve a purpose, whether it's solving a problem I've encountered or bringing a cool idea to life. It's more than just a hobby—it's a way for me to continuously learn and create.
